FOAMING CHARACTERISTICS OF LUBRICATING OILSASTM D892- IP 146 - NFT 60129 - ISO 6247This test method covers the determination of the foaming characteristics of lubricating oils at 24°C and 93.5°C.
CHARACTERISTICS
SPECIFICATION
The instrument performs two tests at 24°C and two tests at 93.5°C. The equipment comes complete with 2 heat resistant glass jars each with control board including electronic temperature controller with digital display and setting, 2 accurate factory calibrated flowmeters, two 1000 ml test cylinders, two certified diffuser stones, immersion heater with over temperature protection, efficient stirring system with adjustable speed, air delivery tubing and thermometer. Cold bath has built-in coils for air and cooling water or refrigerant circulations. Complete Tester with two thermostatically controlled baths for 4 tests including 2 borosilicate vessels, 2 circulating thermostats, 4 cylinders 1000ml for foam tests, 4 stoppers, 1 cooling coil, 1 double coil for air conditioning, 4 steel ballast weights for the cylinders, 4 diffusing spheres, 4 flowmeters on stand, 4 stop valves and 2 ASTM 12C thermometers. An air regulator of 95 ml/min. ±5ml/min. is recommended REF. 941643 Twin test units for both 24 and 93.5 °C. Complete with certified diffuser stone. REF. 941640 single test unit for both 24 and 93.5 °C. Complete with certified diffuser stone. REF. 9416431 Automatic time sequencer to monitor soaking, blowing and settling periods for 4 samples. It helps the operator to limit his presence nearby the instrument using audible and visual alarm.
