AUTOMATIC INDUCTION PERIOD AND POTENTIAL RESIDUEASTM D525 - D 873 - IP 40 - 138 - 142 -NFM 07012 - ISO 7536 - DIN 51780
Reference 40900 NPI 440 - 2 stations Reference 40925 NPI 442 - 4 stations New NPI 440 with graphic screen, updated electronics, and friendly software. 2 models available : NPI 440 liquid bath version (2 stations), NPI 442 solid block version (4 stations). Temperature range from ambient to 120 °C. Last 100 results stored. The vessels to be ordered separately (at choice for 2 or 4 stations). RS232 output for PC connection and transmission of datas. The fully automatic tester performs the determination of the oxidation stability of gasoline, aviation fuels, lubes, chemical and similar products. The breaking point in the pressure vs time curve is preceded by pressure drop of 14 KPa within 15 min. and succeeded by a drop of not less than 14 KPa in 15 min. Induction period is the time elapsed between the placing of the bomb in the bath and the breaking point at 100°C. Potential residues are separately weighed after 16 hours of oxidation at 100°C. Other methods with mineral or silicone oil may be programmed. REF. 40925 (for D525 and D873) 4-unit automatic Potential gums & Induction period tester model NPI 442, including metallic bath, direct pressure measurement in the test vessel, over-pressure safety by certified bursting disk and quick coupling, tracking of pressure, pressure drop and break-point on printer or PC, supplied with plotter and filling accessory, but without test vessels, sample container, nor PC software REF. 40900 (for D525, D873) 2-unit automatic Potential gums & Induction period tester model NPI 440, including liquid bath, direct pressure measurement in the test vessel, overpressure safety by certified bursting disk and quick coupling, tracking of pressure, pressure drop and break-point on printer or PC, supplied with plotter and filling accessory, but without test vessel, sample container and cover, nor PC software REF. 40930 The oxygen filling and decompression valve adapter model NPC 210 is designed for all type of potential gums and indiuction period bombs. CHARACTERISTICS
SPECIFICATION Automatic Tester with 2 places in oil/water bath or 4 places in metallic bath, with safety on heating, sample pressure and temperature probes, temperature detecting range from 0 to 150°C, high electronic accuracy, control and configuration by 20- key keyboard, liquid crystal display of 2 lines with 24 characters, very steady bath temperature and programmable bath set point.
This instrument is dedicated to the testing of gasoline, aviation fuels, gas or grease stability in oxidizing environments. The instrument operates either between ambient temperature and 120 °C or between 98°C and 102°C. A powerfull software computes the induction period. The pressure probes located in the test cylinders provide accurate measurements all along the test process and prevent from leak aging which could always occur from the use of a flexible. The automatic detection is provided by a sophisticated software associated to electronic high resolution probes. This user friendly software allows to operate each unit individually, to set maintenance functions and to assess safety device parameters dedicated to overheating prevention. actual tests to be carried out have to be specified in order to define the characteristics of the testing pressure with cover, glassware and adjusted burst disk to prevent over pressure. The instrument complies with the European Directives regarding operator and Environment safeties and is therefore bearing the CE label. See also: Manual Induction Period
